Carondelet Hosts Fourth Year of Free Summer Camps

Through a continued partnership with Carondelet Health Network, Rancho Sahuarita is able to help deliver opportunities for community residents to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

Rancho Sahuarita, in partnership with Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital, was able to offer free camps for children of various ages again this summer. This year was the fourth consecutive year of the program, which provides resident children the opportunity to participate in a week of fun and engaging games and activities, with the focus centering on health and overall wellness. In 2015, the Carondelet “Be Well” Summer Camps hosted 180 children at no cost to the families. This year, the same number of children were able to participate.

The camps, which are available in various sessions for different ages, ran from the first week in June to the last week in July. A total of six camps of offered, with a maximum capacity of 30 children per camp.

Christine Moreno, Lifestyle Director for Rancho Sahuarita, commented, “Our summer camps are a healthy way for the kids to stay active and engaged throughout the summer. They are very popular and always fill up quickly. Carondelet has been a great partner, and we thank them for their support throughout the year.”

Carondelet Health Network also serves as a local provider of general healthcare, with their general practice facility, Carondelet Medical Group, located in the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace. The practice is open Monday – Friday, from 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and offers pediatric and family care.

This summer, the team at the local Carondelet office is working to ensure that local children are prepared and ready for the new school year, with sports physicals, well-child checks and complete physical exams. With it being the time to ensure that children are up-to-date on required immunizations and ready for the school year and sports season, it is important to get them set up with an appointment.

*Patients coming for sports physicals must bring a 2016 AIA Annual Participation Physical Evaluation Form with pages 1-2 completed and signed by parent or guardian, or arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment to have time to fill-out the forms available in the lobby. (Please also note that all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)

Carondelet Medical Group in Sahuarita is located at 15920 S Rancho Sahuarita Blvd, Suite 120 Sahuarita, AZ 85629, and is reachable by phone at 520-777-2277.
